all my condolences to family and friends.
the sudden death of a loved one is a delicate situation, and ALL these pics should be deleted, doesn't matter if the local media decides to publish them or not.
How about a pic of him when he was alive ??

but why the pics?, what purpose does it serve? let him rest in peace.
and as chenzo said, why not show a pic of when he was alive and enjoying life? honour him.

ok, all pictures of the rider have been taken out. Thx for your comments.
Rick: squalls can happen in Brazil as well.
In the NE area, the main kiting area, squalls can come through during rainy season (Feb-May). They can easily been seen.

I support putting the pictures back in the forum, as terrible as they are. If we can save just one life by having people look at these pictures, it will be well worth it. Maybe put in a warning that they are graphic.
I learned on Naish R3 (yes I am that old) and the first thing an instructor would teach you was... ALWAYS FEAR THE KITE. Today there's more of a Nintendo mentality... it's like 100% depower kites have given us a world of no consequences. A lot of new kiters don't know the sea or the wind, and are caught by surprise. We have all seen beginners taking too many chances (especially rigging too big a kite), and even experts need to be reminded once in a while. Yes it could be you or me next time. It's too easy to forget this while doing what we love... we need reminders.
These accidents could happen to even the most experienced and careful kiter... it's a probability game... but every reminder we get is pushing the probability a little lower. That's a good thing.
Take an example of the gentleman who injured his knee riding a Flysurfer way overpowered... maybe if he had those pictures in mind, he may have stayed in the beach... remaining uninjured to kite another day..

I agree with Sarc and Tungsten,
It was a friend of the deceased kiter who posted the picture, he made the call that it was appropriate to post. He witnessed the whole thing, I bet he wishes he could delete the pics in his head but he can't. This is a way we can collectively share in his loss and maybe learn something that might help us all in the future.
I believe it was put there to serve a purpose, put the reality of what we are doing back in perspective.
It is graphic but i don't believe it is disrespectful, it is the reality of the situation.

Can be informed about details of accident?
Wind direction, weather sudden changes, wind speed, riders weight, Kite model and size, problems with QR and so on... will be useful information.
Never know what to say in this situations... I am really sad.
