Thats right , Vernon
I was compelled to stop short on the way
to Mountain Creek ski slopes,
in order to shoot some 35mil fisheye
shots of the little Van-Rod

sure its not likely to be a daily driver-mobile
or even one for a long distance kite expedition

but it looks like a fun way to hump a lotsa
gear to the beach parking-lot for a day or weekend

Incedentaly on my visit to Cozumel I did have the occasion to rent the
Smart Car for a day or two,...
for the same price as a Jeep Wrangler!?!?@?$%#@?!@!?$%?^%?
the Hertz guy claimed it'was the only thing availiable on short-NOW!- Notice
sure it got good mileage,
sure I had to push the gas peadle down 75% just to back out of a parking spot
sure was extra work to unstrap my GolfKitebag off the roof,
push the passenger seat back and CRAM the bag in there when leaving the
whole setup unattended, not a big deal
But God and Heaven help me were I to get crashed into
by something as light weight as even a nissan sentra
whilst in it.
Lucky for me I got the 4 door wrangler Hardtop (Same $60 a day price)
for the rest of the 10 day vacation
It happened to be 2 wheel drive and needing 4WD never came up this year
also, I kept 2 boards, 3 kites, hung my harness and shorty wetsuit
a kayak paddle,
4 flippers 2 masks and snorkles lockered in there
full time,. no need to drag much inandout of the hotel every day

In these parts the enviro-nazis would not like this car at all. Around here some hippy liberal with a "peace" symbol on their Prius would vandalize your car, or at the very least sneer at you with a snobbish look on their face.
Sad thing about the Hummer is that it preformed pretty badly in crash testing... actually came out as having very poor rear collosion safety as well as marginal driver safety.

People who have them actually think they are safer??????

The Nissan Murano on the other hand came out as the safest SUV around.

Pretty pathetic for the H3 do get such poor results... such a big car...... I guess safety isn't a priority in military designs.

I'd say that the Hummer is a good example of how backward the mainstream US car industry has become.

before i forget 2 mention it freddie,
the military issue Humvee ,..
the original big one
probably outweighs the H3 by 3 to 0ne
the H3 is a mid-size dedicated to civilian use
and is never outfitted with hi-power guns
or overloaded with body armour

I like the functionality of the Honda Element but why does it have to be so ugly on the outside??? Sure, it's not as bad as PT Cruiser (the worst looking car on the market) but it's still a damn fugly car.

I was thinking about one of these until I learned that the pedaling part goes to a generator and NOT to the drive train. So you might as well get a hybrid and put a stationary bike hooked up to a generator in the front seat and have sort of the same deal.

Costs 30k. Too much.

Lion batteries

Goes 53mph, range is 100 miles.

Put a rack on top. Your squeeze next to you. Head to the beach.

Nonetheless, it's on the right track.
