You can't beat the Honda Element. Waterproof seats and a plastic floor, plus a ton of space inside. Even if it looks like a toaster on 4 wheels.

In these parts the enviro-nazis would not like this car at all. Around here some hippy liberal with a "peace" symbol on their Prius would vandalize your car, or at the very least sneer at you with a snobbish look on their face.

I removed the back seats and built a deck. There's room for a twin tip, three or four kites, bars ,tools, pump, and other stuff under the deck. I have surfboard straps through the "oh shit" handles that span the ceiling ,that can hold up to two seven foot surfboards. If you put the shotgun seat down you can fit a 9'6" longboard inside also. I sleep in it all the time, Im 6'2" , ( the front seats slide all the way up to the dash).
I carry a 12 foot SUP on top along with a full Thule box.
I drive it on the beach all the time. Not too far though, maybe a mile down the coast. Its just a little too low to the sand, that dosent allow enough air flow over the transfer case. When the transfer case over heats, the power to the rear axle stops. You basically cant drive through really deep sand for a long time. I just straddle the rutts and have no problem.
Gets about 25 mpg, even more if you keep it under 65mph.

P.S. click picture to see all my great kite movies! not spam! :bye:
