Hi, there is a perfect speed spot not so far away from EU, where I found the perfect speed run. Good winds, warm water, and plenty of wind one more time. Check me out, testing the new kitefactory, dragster kite, with my Underground Proto Speed hitting 40 knots on my second day with the kite. Going to start organizing kite speed clinics there, and probably put up a measuring unit.

Nice!.
Don't you want to hold the kite lower??? I haven't done many speed runs on the water but i've done plenty on my landboard. On the landboard i want my kite as low as possible.

Yes, ideally yes. The wind was not from a prefect angle, so when I started accelerating keeping the kite lower would have taken me away from the shore and into the small chop. This was running just a few degrees away from beam reach. It was not flat out, with a different angle there is much more speed possible. Also, longer lines and to play with the fin, will make a big difference. If you check the readings on the gps software I had this speed for almost the whole run. There was not much acceleration after the start. That was 12 sqm kite in 35 knots, too close to the wind.

Somewhat different dynamics.
On land, the majority of your resistance is aero drag, which isn't significantly affected by kite angle. So it probably makes sense to fly the kite at it's most efficient angle, which is low.
On water, wave making resistance is a major drag component, and it can be reduced by flying the kite high, effectively lightening the rider. The best kite angle depends on conditions and pointing angle.

Hi, my times are on gps-kitesurfing.com, but honestly `I don't know where you got the 2 of March from. One thing for sure, gonna go much faster and longer ( to always have the 500 m run )This is how my sessions look like:

Yep, when you are pointing to close to the wind the only way is to fly the kite high, otherwise it pulls you off the edge and you finish in the chop, and ultimately loose speed.
