NPX Lucifer drysuit - where to buy, price?

Postby fprintf » Thu Sep 11, 2008 12:25 am

Just saw this today: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBWcGN793jY

and visited the NPX site for more information: http://www.npxwetsuits.com/index.php?op ... Itemid=306

It looks really cool. It looks like it might be a new product. Has anyone tried one? Does it work as well as it looks in the video? Where can I buy one and for what price? Obviously there are lots of drysuits on the market, but this one looks just like my snowboarding gear! :-)

I'm super interested in this as well. I don't even live somewhere cold but that looks like an AWESOME drysuit.

I can't find pricing, but I remember seeing it in the new The Kiteboarder mag (at home) and I'll see if they mentioned MSRP.

I have some questions about the seals as they use different types for the neck and the arm/legs. Also, having a hood that big seems like a great way to choke yourself if you crash hard and it fills with water as you're being dragged.

It's still the coolest new thing I've seen in awhile and now I'm not afraid to move somewhere cold and windy.

price is $679.00 retail. in stores around november. no idea yet how it performs. anyone want to pre-order and take a chance?

i have to agree they sure look cool and i like being able to put the harness under the top layer.

I really like it but I'm a bit confused at how you would use your suicide (or other) leash with that top bit covering the back of your harness!?! Am I missing something?

Just put a line around the outside and connect it to both sides of the hook.

Would work and also help keeping the hook from going inside your "top".
This would work better on some hooks then others though...

Looks nice. But the hood is purely aesthetic issue, because when it's really cold you have to use neoprene hood and possibly helmet anyway. I hope the hood has some holes in it to drain water, otherwise soon it'll become water bag on your neck

Good idea re the line from the hook though I have a feel that it would wear the suit out fairly quickly. My harness is starting to fall apart at the back due to the friction of the suicide leash and it was re-inforced. Maybe I shouldn't wipe out so often!

bob- I want one but man, I might get a little warm here in SD!

Think I'll stick to the wet version for now.
