Nobile 555 vs. Mako

Postby bavdrftr318 » Mon Feb 09, 2009 5:43 pm

Has anyone ridden both a 555 nobile board and an ocean rode mako? Just curious of the pros and cons of both.

Very different boards. Mako is quite unique. Massive concave makes it very good for chop and it's the best thing I've ridden for waves if you want to stick to twintips. Powered carves on this board are a thing of beauty.
555 is also better than many boards in chop. I think it's a better choice for freestyle than the Mako unless it is really choppy where you live.
I've not ridden the 2009 version of either board

So will the mako handle chop better than the 555?
