light wind board nobile 555 vs spleene session

Postby dbone66 » Wed Mar 11, 2009 8:03 am

I have a 134x41 nobile 555 board and a 14m kite. I weigh 185lbs and can ride as low as 14mph winds with this setup. I know a guy selling a spleene session 141x41 for a cheap price. I'd like to be able to ride in 10 - 11 mph wind when in a crunch. So my question is, will the extra 7cm in length with the spleene session really make a difference for light wind riding?

Yes.
I have had a Nobile 555 135x40. Now have a RRD Poison 132x41 and a Spleene Session.
No doubt the Session gets you going earlier, and pointing upwind better.

The Spleene Session boards over the past few seasons were either 42 or 43 cm in width. The only exception was the 2008 Session39 which was only 40cm in width.
The new 2009 Session are either 141-43 for the High Tech Version or 142-42 for the Fun Tech Version.
Here a couple of pictures of both new 2009 Sessions.

I tried both and bought the Session. No regrets.
