what kind of support do they want from (my) national organisation(s) & why? their focus is on prof events and pro riders..anyone?

Toby one post you are telling me that my opinion is not valid because I am not a pro competing in contests then the next you are talking about how the IKA is going to be "helping" out with access at local beaches. Their whole business model is exactly that to do the old switcheroo on us, i.e. to gain legitimacy through the professional scene then extend their reach by taxing everybody through insurance sales and certifications.
The professional scene needs organization. The rest of us can take care of ourselves. No access issue is even going to be helped by some international organization but rather a group of local dedicated riders/businesses doing it for free.

I think normally they will not get involved. But if more power is needed, they can be called and they will help.
true, sounds bad, and like they want to govern you.
