A broom handle works well too. The broom handle is nice a rigid so it is easy to feed the bladder in while pushing the handle through towards the wingtip. One the handle is all the way to the windtip, pull it the rest of the way through and you are done.

I've used the broom handle method for years. Much easier and quicker then the cardboard thing. You can also use a windsurf sail batten. What else are they good for now. As long as you don't twist the handle the bladder won't twist. This way it takes @ 5 minutes to reinstall a new LE bladder and a strut in under a minute.

Hey,

Yaga post it on and on.

Noel and Blancho the stick is also a great way also.

The thing that seemed easy with the cardboard was I could set it down on the floor in the leading edge, feed more badder into edge, go pick up flat cardboard and I was certain I did not have a twist.

Just a different way to keep in mind and may come in handy on some special trip at some special place when you need to get back on the water.

Wow, I´ve used the same method for years, can I get a patent? :)
I mean, I have a thick peace of cardboard ( took it from some large package ). It's so thick, it's easy to feel through the LE fabric. Then just slide it through the LE. At first I used it with a string so that bladder doesn't get twists but after the first use I thought why do I need the string anymore?

For small struts I simply use piece of string and some heavy weight (nail cutter, big screw) to get to string through the strut. Then use lark's head to attach it to bladder and slide it through.

Good one Clew In.

I have a slow leak I've been putting off fixing. Definitely gonna try this if I have to remove my bladder.

Simple and easy :thumb:

I love this... I need to remove 1/2 of an LE tonight (selling the kite) and adjust as it was slightly twisted, resulting in one of the valves pulling inward (i suspect due to a twist). Kite worked well for one session, bit I don't want to push my luck. And you're right... I've done this alone a few times and take up my entire backyard with stuff tied off to trees and so on. Awkward. Now I can do it in the basement!
thanks guys!

I actually attempted this method this weekend... I ended up with 4 twists by the valves which means they were turned around, I righted them and I must have inserted them incorrectly.Pulled it all out and re did the whole thing the way I usually do with a string and an helper and every valve was facing where it should be and absolutely no twists... what am I missing here?
