A good friend of mine just told me that Eli Thompson passed away recently, leaving behind a really young family.
So sad, when a sport looses such an inspirational character.

Sorry and RIP.
What a way to go.
Maybe guys learn to back off a 100m or so.
& to figure out a way to flare a bit more than those suits do, I guess...

probably many will dislike my comment, but i just wanted to share my point of view.
i think we shouldn't be sorry for him, it's probably one of the best ways to die!
it's like if i got lofted, fell and died instantly . people should not be sorry for me!
the problem is always the ones you leave behind. unfortunately there's moment at which your life stops being only yours since you have take care of others.

For sure. Free fall in regular jumpsuit is about 150 mph, arms tucked in, head down, you can reach 200 mph. I'm guessing wingsuit slows freefall to about 100 mph. With a L/D of 1:1 that gives a vector speed of about 144 mph... definitely moving right along...
