hmm not nice, esp if victim already got impaled on surf pole.
People do get slammed verbally after the physical blow,
insult on injury sometimes.
Credit to the rider for risking the beating to avoid collision and a bad outcome!
I would like to do like, half of that jump, really.

very nice -bravo! you are now over-qualified to post on the 'how to jump high' thread!

very smooth and a perfectly well timed and well executed loop. When first watching, I thought for sure you'd just sine the kite - but a very ballsy high altitude loop.very few people will pull the trigger that high. I'll admit - not me!

The 2nd jump tells me that I made the right choice riding LEI's. I doubt that sucker relaunched. Looks like a long swim in cold water.
1st jump was sick though.

FS kites can relaunch from that position just fine. What you see on the video is the kite going to safety. The kite has a 5th line and folds in half when released to the 5th line. FS kites can be relaunched after going to safety and they do not sink. The kites just floats on top of the water.

The second jump.. the emergency one Eddy did to avoid collision actually shows a couple of reasons why a Flysurfer Foil is a good choice.

1st of all at a certain point Eddy ends up swinging way downwind of the kite and the lines lose tension, but the kite just drifts back without collapsing. Most kites will fall out of the sky if they are overflown that much.

2nd it shows how effective the safety release is. The kite folds in two and is truely fully flagged out and does not go into a wild spin. Look at the video again and watch how right when the safety is released the pull just shuts down completely despite the crazy wind.
Relaunch from this position especially with an 8m or smaller is pretty easy to do.
Admittedly to someone who does not know the kites it does look pretty alarming.
The times I have used this safety people have asked what the hell was that "trick".

On another note Eddy Lansink is a multi tallented guy. He is the designer of Flysurfer's new board line. Flyradical, Flydoor and a wave board comming soon. If this is anything like how he test pilots his boards Flyradical is the right name for them.

Eddy.... the Flyradical M is such a nice board!
