Congrats to Dimitri and Helen, for their new EPIC Kites
We had a chance to try them in all conditions here in Aruba.
These kites are here to stay ,with explosive power great turns, and very easy to use.
Also the dimitri pro Board has what it takes to load as Boost ,great for flat and choppy conditions
we wish you all the best with Epic Kites

Nice looking kites,

but spoiled them putting front line pulleys on, the weakest part of the kite now - could you not put enough R&D in to avoid this. Looks like most manufacturers have gone full circle from 2006/7 with the front line pulleys on their 2010 kites - :nono:

Still would love to try them, when are they getting launched in Oz, our season has started but not very well so far.

Good luck with the new venture.

Cheers
Rich

Got the chance to ride the 10m LE Screamer a few days ago...winds in the 15-18mph range, with an opposing current(adds another 3-4mph of feel to the wind)... Here are some comments:
-Construction: Very well made...one of the best I have seen
-bar/lines: didn't have the Epic one...so can't comment...
-Stability: I flew Thrusters last year and liked them a lot...but they did get a bit wobbly in the air...this kite is rock solid..very suprising for such a high aspect kite
-Turning speed: I thought the speed was good for a 10m...It was not lightning fast, which is what I was expecting...not slow by any means, but I think slower than the 10m Thruster...
-Low end: very impressive for a 10m...most guys were on 12 and 13m's... opposing current definitely added to the extra "feel" of low end, but it was still pretty light for a 10m this day...
-Jumping: this is what it is made for, and it does very well... even in these lighter winds(for a 10m), I could get nice lofty jumps
-unhooked wakeystyle: it works okay...not as well as a more med aspect kite, but I was suprised by the amount of pop I could get off the kite...
-wave riding: didn't have much waves, but tried a few bottom turns on some small faces...it works pretty well, but there is a bit of lag in the pull from the kite while it turns......the Renegade will most likely be the better kite for this...
Overall: a very nice kite for those wanting to jump to the moon. Super stable for such a high aspect style kite and very well made... For those that loved the Thruster and kites like it, this is the next step up... for those that are used to a more medium aspect kite, this one will feel a bit different and probably not the kite for you...

No-one gets photo shots quite like Dimitri.....probably something to do with being a nutter!

Thanks to the Aruba guys for positive comments on the 'Dimitri' board (shown in the pic). Will be available very soon.... :thumb:

Not a good day to be in the Ocean. Too many houses floating around after that storm that went through the Outer Banks. But it was nice to test the RENEGADE 9 in the waves. Excellent kite for the waves.

Hello Dimitri, after seeing all the pics in this thread, couple questions:

You came home to the Banks just in time for the storm?
Cold, trending colder and nasty!

A little closer to this thread and relevant to the above:
Are you going to set up a time to fly the new kites in the Banks during December or wait till spring?

If no, where should a busted up, out of shape, local, non-industry customer go to try out one of your new kites?*

Given the scheduling madness between now and new years, Miami or off-shore is a good answer.
Warm water, no house work, nagging family, yeah, Miami or off-shore will work.
