Travel Advice for Hawaii - Honolulu / Kailua

Postby gregy » Tue Jul 23, 2013 1:24 pm

Hey Folks,

I'll be traveling over from Dublin around mid Aug to Honolulu / Kailua area for a couple of days.

Does anyone have any advice on where to try get some kiting in / where to stay?

Is it possible to rent kites etc. over there?

Any help atall would be greatly appreciated,

Cheers,

G

*I'd be at intermediate level I suppose, upwind / downwind no problem, pop, toeside, just starting to try backrolls at the moment.

The main Naish shop is in Kailua and while I don't think they rent kites they'll probably demo one. They might rent boards, they definitely rent SUPs. Good vibe in there, very down to earth.

The only option for accommodation in Kailua is guest houses.

Hawaiian water sports teaches at Kailua almost everyday. If you show them you are kite worthy they will rent you there equipment.
