Things seem to have changed since the topic was previously discussed.

The Ocean Rodeo Predator seems to be the best drysuit out there for kitesurfing - merely because of the snug fitting and flexibility.

Any other suggestions based on fitting/flexibility, ability to keep you dry and strength in tear and wear?

I guess the ability to keep you warm is not a factor as it is the inner layers that matters in that respect.

but really nothing changed since then: if you say a magic words "OR" at least dozen of on guard OR affiliated forum users start to join in choir to praise the predator suit.

you can collect even more response only by using words "epic kites".


i say read previous threads and go for the cheapest. thats the way it is most cost effective!

I just bought a drysuit and ended up with an Ocean Rodeo Predator after seeing what was available.

I was going to go for an Ocean Rodeo Pyro Pro because it was cheaper and a proven design, but the ability to use the Predator in the surf with my kite and SUP seemed like it was worth the extra $$.

The suit looks great and the quality seems excellent, but since it's new I won't be able to give you a proper review until the end of the winter.

Keep in mind I live in Victoria BC which is the home of Ocean Rodeo so I see their stuff in use all around me and it's the logical choice here. Given the post above I guess I should be apologizing for supporting a local company that makes great gear...

Hey i bought a Ion Fusion drysuit in april.
Been testet out from 5*c air an 4*c water to 20*c air and 14*c water

This drysuit is made from neopreene and its warm as hell.

But I tend to get some water in after some hard crashes...
Anyway all my buddies got OR drysuits , and all of them got some layers under, but you dont need that in the fusion...

I used to ride an OR Pyro Ltd during winter time as it's too cold to be buck naked around freezing point in 30 knots when changing. I used it for that season and then sold it right away. There's no way to explain the feeling of a totally unflexible material that is being pushed by the water against your body. I bet it's great for shallow water riding but for deepwater kiting it is horrible. I bought a van instead so I could change indoors =) I guess the predator suit is much better as it is flexible.

i having using the wetsuit style since back in the 80s. it is just like wearing a normal wetsuit but no water gets in. also the seal areas are more comfortable to me because they are neoprem. my suit is not tight so i can wear a layer of silk when it is really cold. downside is you will still get cold if you stand on the beach. i have an oneill and i am thinking of getting a pro motion which has more slick surface on the outer surface. just my thoughts.

its still warm here, in fact very warm waters for the UK,

ps, I have 5 drysuits of all makes, saved from over the years, they all work great, back zips and chest zips which are so much easier to self zip,

go light weight materials, neoprene cuffs and neck, and if you can get one with a pee zipper, then that a bonus, (I wish mine did,)
