A friend of mine just bought a Kitehero line mount and Go Pro surf hero. He's a keen snorkeler as well as a kiter. Sat in the shop waiting for wind we devised a super simple upgrade for a hand help camera mount. http://www.stormkiteboarding.com

1: Chop (Saw) the handle off and old pump right at the base so you keep the flitch (triangle fin that protrudes from the handle for strength). You'll notice the handle has a hole in it's core. Take a screw less that 2 inches and fix your new handle using the hole in the line mount.

Bingo

2: For additional safety take a wrist lease off a trainer kite or a very old kite (pre 2004) add a length of bridal (rope) attached to the camera leash and you've got a pretty safe set up, so you don't lose your new toy.

Tools required:
Screw driver
2 inch screw
Hack SAW
30 minutes

Parts Required:
Kite Pump
12 inch of rope/string/line/bridal
Kitehero
Go Pro
Velcro wrist leash

Hey thats a great idea! I usually just hold the line mount between my index and middle fingers. Now, one thing thats very annoying is how blurry the videos are under water while snorkeling. Has anyone been able to find like.. a contact lense for it lol?? I guess that's the only thing that would help as the cams focus is set right?

My friend had the same problem.. he looked it up on the internet and found that some guys have been retro fitting flat acrylic across the face of the housing so the underwater images are not distorted. It works fine above water but distorts slightly under. He did mention they (Go Pro) I think, may be making a new housing to get round this. At the moment it looks like the users are developing there own mods.
