El Gouna Egypte: Can I avoid to bring my pump

Postby Feng » Mon Sep 06, 2010 7:19 pm

Hi,
I will stay in El Gouna (Moevenpick resort) end of september.
I am planning to kite at the Moevenpick beach and the Mangroovy beach.
As far I understand both beaches have kite schools where you can register to access to their compressor (and in the same package a rescue boat if needed).

So my question is:
As I would like to save weight/space in my luggages, can I avoid to bring my pump ?
Any experience from guys who went there ?

Depends how patient you are
Don't worry, they have a compressor. You can save the space in your luggage. Unless you're pump is made from solid metal, you won't save much weight though

Thanks for the answer.
I am flying from London with Egypt Air and I have been told that over sized luggage are charge by weight.
I am therefore planning to stip my board from everything, carry the "nacked" board of a simple bag and and put my 2 kites, harness, 2 bars, board equipement (handle, fin, foot strap) in my standard suitcase.
I tried, it fits with the pump put I am very close to the 20 Kg limit and a still to put a few clothes.
So getting rid of the pump will be good for the space and weight.

If you want to save weight and still take loads, wear a jacket and cargo's with loads of pockets and stuff them with clothes and such. Gives you a bit more flexibility with your bags and it's perfectly allowed.
