This is a brief report on a friend's demo of my 2010 Epic Screamer 14m.

He has been wanting to try the 14m for awhile but we were not able to hook up until Friday. He is almost exclusively into jumping using his TT and has been reading reports about the 14m - weighs about 180 (my estimate).

I was finishing a session, saw him approaching the water and offered him the kite. I warned him that the wind was getting lower (estimate of 12-16mph at the time) - and the bar was rigged with 20m lines.

The bottom line - he was absolutely amazed at the jumping capabilities of the kite in what was marginal wind - and he went around telling many others just how impressed he was with the kite and that he was now going to look into getting the 2011 Screamer 14m.

Pray for wind - and enjoy the ride!!!

Had a chance to take out my 12m2 Screamer and Droid board for the first time yesterday. Air +8C, water+2C. Wind 20-25knots. Despite my fingers getting numb after 15 min (no gloves) I stayed out for more than an hr. Pure fun. Screamer is indeed a jumping maschine, nice hangtime and very smooth on landings. Super stable up in the air. What I really liked was how fast the kite is compared to its size. Bar is very light and I had to get used to it (used to ride North Rebels for few years). After a while all worked well - need to join gym to get my exercise now :D . Depower system is easy to use. Very happy with the kite. Canˇt wait to go out again. Droid board is also really nice. Initially felt kind of light (and it is very lightweigth) but after 10 min I got used to it. Smooth on chop great for pop. Straps and pads super comfortable. I just wish it would be a bit warmer, so I could stay out longer. Screamer 12m2 and Droid 135x41 make a great combo.

Hello there, I have a question about the bar pressure of your kites.

Which one has the least bar pressure?

The screamers or the renegade?

And can you (EPIC rider and/or customer) compare the bar pressure from screamer/renegade with any of these kites?

Naish Cult 09 / Best Waroo 09 / North Rebel 08 / Ocean Rodeo One 07 / FS Psycho4 Speed3.

I.E The screamer/renegade bar pressure is very lighter/similar/heavier to the whatever kite mention above.

Thanks for any honest info, Ian

The Screamer has the least bar pressure. I would say it has a 5/10 and the Renegade has a 6.5/10. The only kite I could compare it to would be the Cult. I don,t want to say the Screamer is more or less but they are very similar in bar pressure. I think the bar pressure is perfect on the Screamer and the Renegade could use a little less.

Renegade 11m 2011 has less.

Important part about the epic kites they have a nice steering pressure on the bar. This way you feel the kite better.

Thanks a lot for the info. Last questions if you guys don't mind.

Comparaison between

Screamer 10m Ltd vs Screamer 9m (both 2011) for:

Bar pressure
Jumping height (without kite loop, just regular jump)
HangTime (without kite loop, just regular jump)

thanks again, Ian

cant tell you much about that myself. I do know the 10m limited is not for everyone. personally i just dont like it that much compared to the 12 and 9m. Maybe its a little more difficult to fully take advantage of the kite. You can feel it has the potential.. but i simply cant get it out of it.

Man thats tough because one is a 9m and the other is a 10m. But I think both have equal bar pressure. Hangtime and jumping... the LTD is gonna have the edge. It might be because it is bigger but I do believe it has a stronger lift profile that lets it jump just a little higher. Compared to a 12m Screamer I have found I can jump as high if not higher with the LTD.
