Hi, there is a lot more experienced guys out there then me, so my question is, how hard is it to fly the Slingshot Fuel 4 line or 5 line? I learnt on 4 line kites so am a little unsure about the 5 line ones
Depending on the feed back, I have been looking at Fuels for awhile, I really want one, on the other hand I don’t want to kill myself! So I need some help…. Also I read that the 2008 is the best bla bla kind of stuff, so any help would be appreciated. At the moment I ride RPM’s.

I have been riding Fuels for 2 and 1/2 years I have had a 5 line 2008 and 2009's, 2010's and now on 2011's. The 4 line Fuel is easy to fly its not that much more power then your RPM. It might be the same really.
The biggest thing about it is it has a much better feel on the bar. It turns like no other kite and has an addicting feel due to how responsive it is. The range might be a bit less then the RPM but it has all the depower you need to be fine.
I have a buddy that has been on bridle kites for ever he finally tried my Fuel and now has ordered a 9m and an 11m. Kinda funny I have been telling him sence 2009 to try it.

Hi Eduardo, well, i guess its my goal, a lot of the guys round my way ride them, they mostly ride Slingshots. I have not defined my style of riding yet, i dont like having too little bar pressure, i like to know where the kite is, safety is a concern, i dont want to be a statistic, Fuels dont seem to change much so i guess you can ride them forever with small upgrades.

for safety & flying, you'll be able to fly it just fine.
the fuel will also be well behaved just mowing the lawn. only difference is less gust absorption so you'll use your board more.
if you're really just getting started, there would certainly be easier kites to have, and easier might mean you'd progress faster while still working on basics.
most people who love fuels are either advanced kiters who love the consistent and strong power or low intermediates who want to look good on the beach

probably not out of reach if you can enjoy rpm....
With fuel you get even better feel and looping and turning, and same or slightly worse low end.
Fuel top end is good, you can control it but it will tire you out if you aren't used to using your legs and edging hard.
It's nice fuels sit back where you want them for a good yank and stability....but the trade off is they need a bit more power than some to take you upwind easily -so not the ideal lightwind cruiser.
But imo if it's good conditions, worth riding, it's worth considering a fuel...
I learned on fuels, and still ride them, I have no special talent, so sure, go for it if you want ....

Eduardo, the only thing likely to make me look good on the beach, would be plastic surgery
It’s interesting looking at everyone reasons for liking fuels, what are they like for launching/landing, you see some of the guys, they make it look so easy

I have gotten 2nd hand airush generators from a friend of mine. Fast, responsive C kites.
If I had the money I would buy fuels. The newer C's are fab. and enable you to step it up
several notches. Low ends of generators are not that good.
Get fuels if you can or else generators.

I changed the subject to when to progress to fuels because, i just think its more fitting. It sounds like i should just go for it from some of the posts, which year apart from 2011 cause i aint got the money, which year fuel would be the best entry level if there is such a fuel, i have 8 and 12mtr RPM's 2010 so could use the bar/lines?
