My girlfriend is scoring me a Dakine Clubwagon for Xmas this year. I've looked at a bunch of different golf bags and I think this one offers the most protection. When traveling the globe with a $1,000 board and $4,500 worth of kites I want it's transport to be as bomber as possible when being handled by the malevolent baggage handlers.
F-that noise.

I'm having my friend that's a graphic designer/screenprinter put on the sides in huge font:
SPAULDING GOLF.

The airlines will get NOTHING and like it!

Look guys of course they know that you re not carying GOLF gear in your bags but they have no right to opene it except if there suspicious for drugs, guns etc. Then of course they have to call the police take you to a closed from all eyes place, have you open the bag and if the police finds nothing(you can sue the employee that called them) then they let you go with the flight(wich is been delayed) and make you pay the international rates.I think that is worthing the risk to say lies so you can pass the check. If you re not overloaded(try to put your swimsuit and harness to your onboard suitcase) then probably wont ask you anything :naughty:

I just traveled on American Airlines with the Cabrinha Golf Bag. It was loaded with 65 lbs of gear and one club.

No questions asked and it was taken with no charge. I love the fact that the guys who write the rules play golf.

The bag comes in a 165cm if you really want to push the rules around.

Spelling it SPAULDING is to pay homage to the movie CADDYSHACK and part of the joke son. :cool2:

And SPELT?!
(really?)

Oh and @ nikalaitzian:

You are incorrect sir. The airline can and will go through your bags, personal belongings, clothing, equipment and even search your anus if they even remotely suspect you of anything. It's their right to protect the airline and the other passengers. Since 9/11 it's accept it or don't fly, pretty simple. When they ask you what's in the bag is mostly for the additional charges they can spring on you if you answer incorrectly. Any response with BOARD is going to get your wallet roundhoused with extra charges. It sucks yeah, but just play the game as best you can. Look presentable, be courteous, be organized with your ticket/documents and be friendly. It's at the baggage agent's discretion to stick you or give you a pass. Work it.

The airline didn't charge me but they did do the following to my bag & board (fortunately the board protected the kite).

The bag I got easily repaired here in India (for about 10 dollars) but the damage to the board is less easy to fix. Damaged all the way to the wooden core. I've taken some araldite epoxy and done my best to patch the hole. Not sure how well the board will work now.
