Boots - help please

Here is my situation. I would like to try boots but don't truly like the idea of being stuck to the board if something goes wrong. So, are there any boots that are easy to get off and quickly. I was thinking about the hybrid Slingshot joint but am open to suggestions.

The joints are nothing like boots don't waste your time. Any boots should be easy to get in or out of. I use the SS Shredtowns that I used for the cable last year. They are broken in so I have no problem getting out of them. You just have to use them in good conditions.

Joints are straps even if SS is trying to sell them as half boots. Just get boots with velcro. Vel cro opens up quicky if shit goes south.

sounds like you're not ready yet, if you're already that worried about putting your board on you probably won't have the balls to try any tricks, maybe try wakeskate instead

I always thought the same thing but when I got my boots. Ronix wakeboarding boots i've never looked back. Riding with boots is awesome and i've never had a situation where not getting out quickly was a problem. If you are a good enough rider then you should be fine, if not I would get more practise before switching from bindings.

I almost drown with boots on. but I love them. I got flipped on my back with kite out to leash and was getting pulled under by my board. I could not flip over on to my stomach. I was overpowered so that might have something to do with it. Even if you arent throwing down you will cause the boots give you power and confidence.

velcro boots is probaly your ticket, i have ronix but if i go to a spot where the beach is shitty or not enough space i usually just slip in the boots ride out upwind then once i'm up I lace them up tight. And before coming in I loosen them up before coming in. I've tried both the joints and syncs although the joints are better they're both in the category of worthless pieces of shits.

As long as you've got a decent safety system it's no more dangerous IMO, just a bit more painful when you stack it.
