Here's my report on the "event".
The first day there was no wind. The second barely enough to complete two rounds of the course racing, the larger riders had no chance and it's debatable whether they should have raced at all. The majority of riders did not make the up wind marker. Third day, no wind. Fourth day there was enough wind to race and for freestyle although the shore break was brutal. Some nice riding in the freestyle but nothing to write home about.
The beach was a mess after the riders packed up on the final day, I wonder why the KTA organisers thought it was alright to leave beer bottles, water bottles, cigarette packets, food wrappers etc strewn across the beach. The party on the final night was a complete piss take. Zero consideration for the locals who had to endure thumping music until 6am, hotel and guest house owners shown no respect as they and their customers endured a sleep free night.
It's an amateur competition, it's poorly organised and they couldn't give two hoots about who they upset and the mess and disturbance they create. If I was a sponsor I would run a mile from this so called event and the negative publicity. Maybe in your next video you could show the filthy beach you left, the tired local children who went to school without any sleep and the hoteliers who lost business when their customers checked out after your party.
Inconsiderate Guys.
Tony.

Sorry you had such a negative experience of the KTA event Tony, certainly not our intention to upset anyone. Appears we have walked into a whole heap of local politics and feuds which are difficult to be aware of sometimes, again we would not have intentional have wanted to add to these frustrations, so we have taken onboard your criticism. Fortunately though the vast majority of people, local kiters, competitors and sponsors seemed to have enjoyed the event and competition even though the winds did not live up to its usual Mui Ne norm.

...Yeah,clean up good next time or you guys just look like a bunch of irresponsible low life thrill seekers , exploiting the local people kindness. Be considerate if you plan to have future events there.

Sorry, how is trashing the beach and keeping the neighbours up until 6am anything to do with local feuds or politics? That's a complete cop out to suggest that it was to do with anything other than being selfish and not giving a damn about anyone else but the KTA, next time take it somewhere else.

Well you hear wrong then. I spent 3 weeks in Mui Ne. Most of the time it was beautiful and quiet, you lot turned up and trashed the beach and annoyed the local residents that had to put up with your partying until 6am. Great advert for the KTA and the sport in general.

with every event there comes a party...that is normal. And they last long, also normal!
And knowing kite "politics", there will always someone not be happy...not everyone can handle competition.
And Mui Ne is a kite hotspot, they should have an event and expect there will be one when you go...dates are released pretty early...
And knowing the KTA guys, I am sure no one wants a dirty beach at all! And if it was really dirty, the people are to blame who left it dirty, not the organizer! But I am sure, next time KTA will take extra care if there is anything dirty or not.
Anyway, isn't it now calm and quiet again? Enjoy paradise, be thankful, since not everyone can do this!
