Is there such an animal, new or past model which works well on a wave, eg good drift with excellent down wind relaunch and goes upwind too. Or is this asking too much???
Looking for a 9 mtr, something that is great to wave ride with and then gets me back up the beach for another run.
Not interested in anything that is only realy good for downwinders.
Any ideas?

Yes that is easy.
Naish Park. Fast turning, drifts, and relaunch really well. Supposed to be out with a size 9 these days, but the 8 and 10 works really well for that too....

10 sbow sbc kiteboarding rated it #1 relaunch and ranked high in wind. It also drifts down the line like no other

Cabrinha Convert
works great in the waves and relaunches super easy.
Also it will bring you back upwind.

SBC head to head wave kite test.

I have experience with the Rebel, Renegade, and older Naish(sigma). All these are killer wave kites. Each a little different of course but work incredible in waves. I'm currently riding the Renegades and absolutely love these kites in the waves. Extremely well behaved kite that lets you focus your attention on surfing.

if you Want a kite that is fully designed by one of the best wave riders in the world, And you want a kite that driffs down the line with you hooked in or unhooked, re-launch is fast and easy so you dont get your kite smashed in the surf and pushes up wind very well ready for the next set then check out the new kite from Ben Wilson.
Its called the
BWS Noise Surf Kite
Check out the video's the bar is just unreal the cleanest setup ive seen for a while.

I'm in the wave capitol of nz and theres quite a few guys doing well on Ozone C4's and Catalysts.
The c4 has better upwind and jumping ability, the catalyst has better relaunch. they both float down the line good.

The noise is definitely the best wave kite around in my opinion, the bar is one of my favorite things about the kite, its unreal unhooked compared to everything else I have used
