Hello guys,
I know you have been waiting to see the new line of surf boards from EPIC kites that we have been working on for a long time. So here you go, Epic is coming out with (2) different shapes for 2012:
REEF ATV 5'7" (5 boxes for different style of riding and for all around surfing)
REEF 5'11" (3 boxes for big surf and big winds)
These boards will be available in October for 2012 or maybe even earlier but will keep you inform. We have been working on these boards for over 2 years now, with different pro surfers and different shapers in order to bring you the ultimate board for the surf.
Once again I would like to thank all of you for helping us come up with these new amazing surf boards.

That 5'7" swallow looks great! So what comes with these boards? Do they include straps?
For the 5'7 ATV will it come with the extra 5th fin?
Has any one of your testers tried just surfing with them yet? If the 5'7" has a flatter rocker I bet that will be fun in mushy waves.

Hello guys,
These are the new EPIC "Reef surf boards". The final prototypes just landed in the USA. These boards will come in 2 sizes: 5'11" thruster fins and a 5'7" ATV with a set up of quads or thrusters fins "your choice".
The production boards should be ready by September.
These boards will come complete with FINS/PADS/STRAPS and these are the only colors they will come in.

P.S. Dog not included.

Dimitri, what are the dimensions of the boards. How are they constructed, what materials? Do you have the board weights? Who's doing the production? Oh and send a demo 5.7 up to Bob so I can try one!

Hello "Uride2"
The REEF comes in 2 sizes: Reef ATV 5'7" and the Reef 5'11".

The 5'7" ATV has a fuller "fish" style outline that holds more volume through the nose. The wide, floaty, swallow tail allows the board to drive across flatter wave sections with ease. The ATV is relatively short so it requires little input for a lively, skatey feel making it a really fun board for a variety of wave and wind conditions. The shape also caters to a front foot style of riding due to the width and drive of the board.
With our five box system, you can choose between a quad or thruster fin arrangement allowing you to tune the board to your riding style. Want to get really loose and skatey in the small stuff? Ride it was a twin fin or a twin fin with small trailer and tail slide the heck out of it! The five fin cluster is accentuated by a six channel bottom contour, which accelerates water through the back of the board, increasing speed in gutless surf.
The wide outline, relatively thick foil and flatter entry rocker make this THE board to have for everyday riding, or in less than ideal conditions. The ATV rides equally well with or without straps, in winds ranging from 8 - 28 knots. We're thrilled with this board - we know you'll be amazed!

The 5'11" REEF was designed for larger surf and/or stronger winds. Features include a traditional performance surf board outline with a thinner nose, pulled in squash nose and moderate rocker. Compared to the ATV, the longer rail line allows for a stronger hold when riding fast in bigger surf. Designed to be ridden off the back foot, above the fin cluster for drawn out bottom turns and big hacks off the top. Riders looking for powerful, down the line action will appreciate the rail hug and snappy response in the pocket. With thinner pinched rails, pulled in tail and thruster set-up, the REEF holds tight during steep face riding or barrel hunting. Charge as hard as you want, this board will give you the confidence to tackle the big stuff.

Both of these boards were designed to be ridden with straps or strapless depending your style.

Details:
Great care and quality materials are used in the construction of Epic kite surf boards. Some key features include:
16 kg EPS
1/8" PVC top and bottom
T-Stringer deck system
4 oz. glass top and bottom
7 cm UD tape for flex control
Finished with 0.8 mm wood venire on top of the PVC
Carbon patch for the insert area.
Both of these boards weighs +- 7.6 lbs board only and +-8.9 complete with straps, fins and pads.

I hope this helps.

P.S. Sorry but out of 50 of these boards we made, we have pre sold almost 1/2 of them, so we don't have any demos to send. But you can always demo mine if you come to the Outer Banks NC "USA".
