I broke my board in Hatteras. :( Anyone else manage to break an Underground Kipuna in two like this? First time ever (for any board) for me.

Welcome to the family. And nicely done I might add (the thing is D O N E)! Looks like it had served you well. Personally, I save the noses. Production boards are SOS....move onward. Hellava job!

I had fun on this board but I only got 10 months (minus our winter here) out of it.

I was thinking of putting on a piano hinge and turning it into a travel board, or maybe a beach chair. :)

:o I have the same board, and no problems at all till now, apart of slight heel dents and some dings in the bottom.I mostly use it strapped and also make some jumps, but i always try to softlanding.Anyway it's supossed to be the strongest construction surfkite on the market.
Does it seems it's broke in the middle of the front footstrap.Did you broke it riding strapless ??
Just curious about the rails, can you confirm me they're made from wood??

Technically, yes it can be repaired. But why bother. Almost as much effort as shaping and glassing a complete board: http://www.boardlady.com/snap.htm

Riding strapped at the time. The core appears to be a very dense, stiff, hard, PVC type of foam and goes rail to rail. The wood is solid but only caps the rail (with a layer of glass under it too) to give its final volume. Glass layup looks adequate.

I think repairing it would be a waste of time. It would not ride the same and would likely just break again.

Did you ever jump with this board ? or did it simply break because of cutbacks where you pushed hard ?

I've seen some of the older Slingshot SRT boards break, without jumping - but they were very light, thin, and fragile (but good waveboards, loved riding those)
