Does anyone know whether the 2011 kipuna has a better construction than the 2010 (this thread's broken board)??

Wow... same thing happened to a friend's Kipuna here just last weekend. He's not a big jumper. Just rode it in the waves. No back strap, just a front strap. His broke pretty much just like the one that started this thread. He said he wasn't doing anything particular when it broke, just riding on normal water with ocean chop. No major waves. No jumping.
What's the warranty on the boards? Maybe they need to introduce a center line bamboo stringer along the bottom? Something that will preserve the flex, but give better structural integrity.
