Lines don't snap just because of frictional wear, the condition of the line deteriorates due to the stress put onto it from the kite, the action of sand that gets under the PU lining (ok this is frictional wear I suppose) and the constant immersion in salt water.
Like I said, I prefer to see the condition of my lines - I wax my lines so don't really suffer problems with them breaking.

Rope inside plastic tube does deteriorate, my chicken loop snapped the other-day the plastic tube looked fine at the beginning of the session but little did I know the rope had disintegrated due to trapped sand.JGTR wrote:There what is?
