I could list 19 kite companies off the top of my head and there are certainly as many board builders if not more. If this is what they are basing their numbers on I suspect this is being under estimated.

I thought that too. Im not sure if there's a minimum size for the company to be considered or if it was based on racing stats that the report was referring to? It was not clear.

Hulls is the term in the report for boards.

i'd like to see the "hull" that meets these conditions:
- 5 till 18 knots during the test event using one hull and one kite only
- competitors from 55 to 90 kg used the same hulls in the test event and chose the kite size by body weight
- hull, kite and rigging less than 12 kg, the complete equipment of 17 competitors fit into one mini bus to shuttle to a nearby beach
- the dimensions allow to take the equipment on a plane as standard luggage
how mini exactly is this mini bus they talking about? and what is airline standard luggage according to authors of this report?

Stats: example bars sold 2010-2011-2012 versus kites sold...just an estimate using one company
