Let's hope - missing kiter

Postby Toby » Thu Aug 04, 2011 8:12 am

Just read in a newspaper, that a kitesurfer is missing in the area of Rostock, Germany.

A kite was found, rescue teams search for the kiter and found a board on the beach.
They hope that the kiter left it there since the area is not easy to pass thru.

I have my doubt that anyone would leave their board behind...maybe to search for the kite, but not when leaving the beach.

Normally someone crashes, loses the board, tries to relaunch. And the longer it takes to relaunch, the more likely it is that the kiter lost energy and drowns...but then he would be attached to the kite...

But let's hope it all will work out...I will try to keep you updated.

If the kite is a blue 2009 14m North Vegas.
As a friend of mine lost his kite some days before this thread was posted.
However he lost it in stavanger norway and it went staigth out to sea.
The same days 2 boards where lost and not found.

I wonder where all this crap hits the shore, then I would never have to buy any gear ;)

But if there is someone missing then lets hope he/she is ok.

sensational media...they wrote wrong info to make a buzz out of it!
The kiter had parked his gear on the beach and got back to it.
So they coast guard could have not found the kite on the water, but board and kite must have been on the beach...summer...they need to create content!
