Yes, for a number of years I rode North, my first kite was a Toro. Now I have a quiver of RPM's. I ride these kites because the quality and design is comparable to North but now, due to my friend selling the kites I get a better deal on the SS rather than paying near full price on a North. I dare say that if I knew someone who could get me Epic kites at somewhere around dealer prices I'd fly them.
As for you paying extra to ride an Epic kite, I can't say I actually believe it, but for the sake of argument please could you tell me what brand you switched from.

So, since your post (60 days ago) you have changed to SS RPM kites. Great!
You bought them instead of your kite of choice (North) because you have a dealer friend selling you Slingshot kites cheap? OK, I am getting the picture now.
And you say if you got a deal on Epic kites, you would fly Epic?
So, I must assume if your buddy was an Epic dealer and not a Slingshot dealer, the KevintheHater persona would not exist. Wow!...that's really shitty of you.
Please enlighten us that do not understand your behavior.
As far as my past kites, I have owned Liquid Force, Flexifoil, Advance, Mosquito, Ozone, Windwing, Slingshot, Blade, Switch, Eclipse, Ocean Rodeo, Peter Lynn and Wainman. Out of politeness to my former "affiliations" I will not say what brand I was flying when I demoed the Epic kites and found them to be more fun. I liked the Blade Triggers and Wainman Rabbits best of the past kites I've owned, but the Epic kites jump better for me than Rabbits and fly more stable when sheeted out. The Epic Screamers and Renegades have much better pull through the turns than my Triggers and the jumps are bigger, especially on the Screamers.
So yes Kevin, I was willing to pay a bit more.

Well then our posts have something in common. Seriously, ah, no, not all over the place, just addressing the people I wanted to address, and it was very concise to whom I was addressing, and it was right in the middle where it should be, lets not blow it up, wasn't that crazy. Its not as much as the kite that deters me, it was an ok ride, its more the way the product is introduced, and the tactics to promote it that turn me away. Its a weird ad, not sure what the purpose is....liked the bikini, just not seeing you in it man. I am sure any kiters who want to pursue epic kites and have real issues will help you perfect it. Best to you with all of that. Anyway, neoprene jackets, who wouldn't like that, nice work. Happy Riding, all good times, see you in the water one day.

Exhausting, bunch of damn kids, relentless, who gives a damn if it real, didn't question if it was a real photo or not, it just looks ridiculous. You had better give your brand epic a better image and do something productive for the company, if you 2 were my employees I would be embarrassed. Post something positive, explains why you guys use "smilies" , get it together, move on to another topic. Took you more than an hour to come up with that post? Move on, its over.

I'd just like to point out that my name is Kevin but I'm neither of the two jerks above ... while I'm still skeptical about 5 knots claims without extenuating circumstances, I AM impressed with the level of attention to customer service Epic and Dimitri offers. Keep up the good work! :thumb:

Hello guys,
As you probably have seen on few of the pictures that have been posted on the internet, we have been working on the new prototype DROID v2 board. The idea is to come up with a new look of the DROID plus will be adding an extra insert for wider stances for bigger riders and for more wake style riders. Now the main question is: Do you think we should make the DROID v2 a little heavier or keep it the same weight we have now?
You can always email me directly at: dimitri@epickites.com in case you want to keep it off the Kiteforum.
Again we are in the prototype stage so this boards won't be ready for another 2 months.

Super sick looking board. I'll be grabbing one of those for sure. Would be nice to try in boots as well.

( :allbegood: first i'm not calling you a hater because i dont think you are. a bit to serious maybe.. :allbegood: but some others are haters :angryfire: )

@dmiaca: its just a matter of having fun. Not taking life way to seriously. Dimitri loves to play pranks on people. But is open for selfridicule on him self once in a while. And thats just how to see it. FUN. And if i'm not mistaken thats what kiting is about. :thumb:
I really believe Dimitri is doing everything in his power for the things that really matter and standing behind the brand and customer.

And somehting that none of the  haters/anti epic guys can seem to comprihend is that for the riders, many customers and the people here that give positive reviews and stand behind epic just have fun :jump: riding these kites. :thumb: From all the brands i rode i liked some kites and some i liked some i disliked. But sofar none of the other brands brought me the fun factor feeling i have while riding these kites. The screamers will make me shout :jump: looking from above having an insane long hangtime i havent felt elsewhere yet. The Renegades 3G are incredible fun riding a great combination of elements i like in this kite. In every way you look at it. Flying these kites brings me joy and fun and i'm pretty sure this feeling about the kites is shared by more riders. :thumb:

And then these 12 year old :baby: numbnuts come trying to bash it.. even creating extra acounts for it... :nono:

Also i'm not saying i dont like other brands. Love the Ocean Rodeo Rise :thumb: for instance but compared it just didnt gave me that little extra the screamer does for me. But wow its a incredible kite in my opinion. :cool2:

@laughinman :allbegood:
Even though i dont agree with all you say. I can fully respect and partly understand the things you say. I think you where right about the V1 for instance. I actually thought the V2 improvenments came because of the things you wrote back then. The V2 kite is impressive to me and i cant say i had trouble going upwind with it, easy in fact.. But the Racer will probably be even better for that. Your posts seem to actually contribute something to a debate and you seem to be honest about it. :thumb:

Your point about being worth the extra 1000 dollars... my personal awnser. :jump: HELL YEAH. :jump:

NOW can we all just get along? and enjoy the sport we all suposed to love.
