aleks wrote: That is the thing - on my bar the split to 2 central lines is way too high. I can't reach it to pull on top line only. Pulling on both of them doesn't do the trick for me. That set up on the bar makes it much harder. I use a bar that splits down close on my Screamer 14M. On my 11M I don't self land that way. aleks wrote: My friend has Trigger 2012. Did Blade make it more powerful this year? Also people have different ideas about being well powered - I don't always agree with my friend on that . I can only say that he stayed upwind pretty easily when began to struggle. No. The 2010 to 2011 Blade Trigger kites differ, but the 2011 to 2012 have the same panel layout and power.

@aleks pull the centre line until you get to the split, then grab the top one and pull. the top one will pull the one wingtip into the wind drooping the kite perfect. I'm using the Epic bar, but i think the method would be the same on all.

If your board has a deeper rocker then it will be very slow in light wind hand hard to plan or stay up wind but good in stronger wind.
We have similar boards, but he is 20 lbs heavier. Anyways, let me re-tune the bar and test it again back to back on the same board. It will take a week or 2 though - I mostly ride on weekends and wind is not easy to find here.

Depends on how far up the line the split is. On the Blade bars the split is 20 feet up so that method is really tough. With my Epic bar it is easier. With my Ocean Rodeo bar the split is right up close to me and it is super easy.

Ah... I thought they were all more or less similar within a few feet....having said that, if you pull the front lines when it is at the edge, would it not go down pretty much the same, and then walk around to pulling flat? If in doubt, flag it out... That will always work, although its not as graceful.

The new (3G) Chicken Loop and new XTEND Bar that we have coming out soon, will make it easier to self land and kill the kite.

That will always work, although its not as graceful. sometimes when you pull and you are pulling both front lines the kite does not drop down as well as it should and will be out of position and sometimes you can get a relaunch, which tends to scare kiters. Self landing by using a rope that is affixed to something with a large hook or carabiner to put your chicken loop on. Fully depower the kite and put it down at the edge of the window and touching ground, it will sit waiting for you to walk up to it, as you walk to it, just touch the upper front line to keep it from relaunch. This is another good way to self land in everything other than high wind. In high wind, self landing is a bit scary but releasing to your safety can work fine.

My old bar had a split right above depower, but now I use Zeeko bar and the split is somewhere in the middle between the kite and the bar (or at least it looks like it from my point). There is no way I can reach it.

Do it all the time with my Cab's ...
