Cape Toon in December is h e c t i c just from point of view of its Xmas, everyone is on holiday and flocking to the "seaside", accoms are at a premium etc etc.......

Personally, if you wanted to avoid ze crowds, I'd go either November or late Jan/ early Feb....

(9-7-5 would be perfect)

Pippi langsamer, ced1, thank you!

Just one more question: Do the conditions differ during Nov. - Feb. except for the crowds? I mean in terms of wind range, temperature…

In my experience:
Oct-Nov average 15-20kn, air temperature cold, water temperature warm
Dec-Jan average 20-30kn, air temperature warmer, water temperature cold
Feb-Mar average 25-35kn, air temperature hot, water temperature freezing.

There is SE wind as early as mid Sept, I was out for a 3 hour session yesterday and at the end of the session I could not undo the pigtails from the larksheads my fingers were frozen and blue.

Shamless plug for my In-Laws place if anyone is interested in Langebaan accoms:

Ideal location a few minutes drive (although also walkable), to both Main Beach and Kelin Osterwaal (Shark Bay)

The Flatlet is situated in Harpuisbos Street, Myburgh Park, Langebaan. It offers the following:

• Private access via back gate
• Fully furnished
• DSTV
• En-suite with shower only
• Cleaned daily if required
• Private parking (but not under-cover)
• Use of swimming pool and garden
• Braai facilities can be arranged
• Sleeps 2 people only (double bed only)

The current rate is R185 per person per night.

Anytime over the summer you are bound to get one of those famous "cape doctor" days. then your small kite will come in handy. If you get 3 or 4 days in a row…. it gets a tad breezy down there :)
