Wow ... I must be psychic. How about ... if you're a sponsored or "team" rider for company X you shut your pie hole about company Y?

That is true "Kamikuza".
By the way not to change the subject but your friend Yamashita in Japan has been very impressed with the EPIC kites. He has been letting a lot of people demo his kites that he bought at full retail (but we gave him Free Shipping to help him out) and from my understanding they are very impressed and few of them already ordered some EPIC kites.
Any way back to the Rocky subject......Again I am very sorry but I guess Rocky had a bad day that day.

P.S. On another note my good kiter friend Charles Jackson who passed away few days ago here in Hatteras told me that you guys where emailing each other quite a lot. I just can't beleive what happened!!!!
I learned more today about what exactly happen and it makes you think.......

Hey everybody I just want you to know that Airush is not on the right track with the one strut kite!

I am Rocky Chatwell on the A team for Epic Kites and I have been flying kites for a very looong time.
I came across this terrible thing you call a kite giving a lesson to someone who owned it and I was trying to show him how to do a simple hooked in front roll. I didn't have my kites out there at the time so he handed me his Airush One kite. Once I had it in my hands I wanted to tell the guy that I could not teach him on this piece of ..... But I gave it a try instead. The bar pressure was terrible and the kite did not react. Honestly it felt like I was flying a fat hippo cause all it did was pull up. I myself could barley land a hooked in front roll on this one strut. I was soo dissapointed in the kite that I handed it back to him quickly and walked into the beach. This kite is really pathetic so don't be fooled by all the hype and gimics. The Airush One kite is just a cheaper way to make a kite and sell it for more. Everybody should try a Screamer kite from Epic! The Screamer is awesome! posting.php?mode=post&f=1#

WOW! hahahaha  You totally made my day Rocky.
Especially that everyone has basically disagreed with you thus reducing your credibility and authoritative approach to this thread and any other you might offer your 2 cents on. The internet is a haunting place and I hope this doesn't follow you to the end of your professional kiting career.

All the best in your future endeavors of self-sabotage, biased reviews, and pimping :thumb:

Couldn't have said it better schmidt'y!

Apart from the sheer unprofessionalism, all these pipers could do worse that absorb Shakespeare's famous quote of "me think they 'doth protest too much!"

Got my hands on that kite a few times and taught with it. Although it is not one i would consider buying if already intermediate, i was actually surprised at how well it behaved and relaunched. My grand mother could do a backroll with it... :thumb:

Maybe Rocky could post some pictures of his wife Arlene in the" Most sexy thread" to make amends.
All is forgiven :D

Bad topic post! Originally when i saw the topic name i had to laugh because of the other hyping topic. But cant say anything else then bad taste for a post. Specially while declaring your a teamrider for another brand. Its simply harmfull for the image of the brand. Atleast thats what i think.

My guess is he wrote it more harsh then he intended to. (i can be rude too when i dont really mean to be that rude)

Personally i dont get the whole one strut thing. Or the less struts is so much better attitude from loads of people here on the forum. Its just a little weight reduction but nothing spectecular. So what am i missing? why is it so much better to have no struts or one strut.. Foils?
Personally i just care how it flys and i like 3 and 5 struts just fine sofar. But it would be nice to test it one time.

Airush is getting better and better every year they have amazing eye for detail and i believe very good kites. Friend of mine is a teamrider and he is psyched with his new Team Razor kites.
Maybe i can test de one any time soon.

This is a great post!!.

Dimitri, I met you in hatteras a couple times at Frisco Woods back when there still was a legit windfest. I was always impressed with what a straight up guy you were. However, you have an idiot that you are sponsoring. After reading this post I've got no respect for the guy and it diminishes what you are doing w/ Epic. Looking at pics in mag is cool but I'm much more impressed with local guys who I ride with. You should sponser 10 of them instead of this idiot and you'd get way more legitimate exposure.

I've taken a 9 One in over 40kts without any doubt of my safety or the kites performance.

Taking a 9m kite out in over 40 knots..... over 40 knots is 50 mph.

That's not safe by any measure.

This is just what we need another kite pimp saying his 9m kite is safe and performs just fine in 50 mph winds.

Kyle and Rocky...... reminds me of Bevis and Butthead.

Aloha Fred,

In regards to safely flying a 9m in winds over 40, this is not a reccomendation to anyone to do the same.I found myself in a situation where the wind speed increased heavily in the Eastern part of the Gorge and the kite kept its composure under heavy load.

Sure, call me a pimp! I love working with Airush. I have my reasons to stick with a company that feels like family at this point. 7-8 years now. I certainly have some bias since I spend a ton of time on Airush kites but, I do try my best to keep things objective.

Rocky's attack is pretty immature and its a shame he hasnt replied with a legit review of the kite. His cred is getting crushed after 2 posts. Hopefully he can dig out of this and keep things on the positive from here on out. Id say it's pretty crucial this happens for Dimitri and Epic's sake.

Remember, I did not start this post. I am simply lending my personal experiences to this forum in defense of this kite.

"By the way Rocky; you know what isn't really going on the right track... Your website; It really look like it was made by some high school kid on a school project.

http://www.rockyskiteworld.com/default.html"

Ha ha I love this. That is one Sh!t website!

Rocky you're the kid at school who made others look small to feel big. I'm assuming you're not an adult yet. Whatever this post's aim was its just another epic-related post that makes me want to buy an epic kite even less than i already did
