Based off of some recommendations on this forum, I went with the 5'4 Skater. I weigh 170lbs and ride crappy small waves most of the time. Only been out 2 times, but can't say enough about how much fun this board is. I've been kiting for a long time, and mainly ride surfboards with straps. Got this board in hopes of starting to ride strapless a little more. Here's a short video from a few days ago. Winds were around 18-19mph, and I am on a 10m.

Dude! You rip. that made me wanna get out and ride so bad.

Nice. I agree. the 5'4'' is super fun even at 190lb. I just got my wife to draw some boobs on the board just to be sure that I will enjoy it even more.

Hi, does anyone know what type of screw Naish is using in its surfboards? Would like to try my skater with straps but can not find a suitable screw.

I noticed Big Winds is clearing out a 2012 Naish Skater [4'8"] for $499.

I'm not affiliated with the shop or Naish, but thought someone might want to score a deal on a small surfboard.... :jump:

they use their regular screws...I think the kiteshops that sell the board should probably have them no?

Vikb: good find. The 4'8'' and 5'4'' are basically the only wave boards I've been riding for the past 6 months.

5'4'' more surfy, the 4'8'' unreal skatey fun. Both board have a spot in my car :-)

Ya it looks like a lot of fun. I'm hoping someone buys it so I don't have a weak moment and order it... :naughty: I just bought a Beachdog skimboard this fall so I don't need a really small skatey surfboard, but the Skater looks really fun!

If the clearance Skater was the 5'4" I'd probably have just bought it... :jump:

A 5' 4" that weighs 4 kg (about 9 lbs) might be good for kiting, but too heavy for surfing.

standard 6'0" surfboards:
- superlight pro comp boards - 2.2 to 2.3kg
- average custom boards - 2.5 to 2.7kg
- heavy glassed ones - 2.8 to 3.0kg

No luck so far. Wrote also to Naish but no reply so far. Would anyone care to take picture of the Naish strap screw and post here including diameter and length of it? I know it's a bit much to ask but... :-)
