My friend just bought a new Dyno 2011 18m, and it came with a 4 line setup.
How can we change this to make a 5 line bar/kite?

I wondered the same thing but for 5 line to 4 line. Is it just one line diffence? They sell them as two different bars, but they seem to be the exact same bar other than the length of the fifth line/minififth line.

Why do you want a 5 line bar, the Dyno flies just as well on 4 lines as it does on 5.
Just be aware that for the longer line bars, which are generally used for racing, the 4 line bar comes as 31M and the 5 line bar comes as 32M ?? Don't ask me why.

That's right. Quad bar has 1mt less than fifth line bar. Also, don't know why. Because this diference, it is very dificulty the conversion.

I found the same problem. My Dyno 18 came with 25mts quad bar, and i was worried about relaunch in marginal winds. That's why i bought a new bar, with fifth line and 31 mts long. It solved my problem giving me a better low end power and also supporting my relaunch in those marginal days.

In time, it is true, Dyno flies very well on 4 lines. I didn't find any diference flying on 5 lines.

The idea was to use this bar in a rebel he wished to buy(without the bar, cheaper).
Now he may just buy a Fuse without the bar. Do you guys think he will have any problem dues to line lenght?

if he has the 31m lines then yes there will be a problem with the Fuse.
Because of all the slack in the lines it will react very slowly compared to the 24m lines it comes with although it will have a slightly better low end only in very light winds.
also slightly depends on the size of the Fuse which length lines will work best, 24m or 20m.

The fuse will be a 14m. Tomorrow we may hit the beach and i'll check the lines lengh!

There are two good reasons to go with 5 lines on the Dyno.
1. 5th line helps with relaunch.
2. It's very easy to get overpowered. If you're out in 10 knots on your own and the wind picks up to 18 - 20 knots it's nice to have the 5th line to self land easily.

does the Dyno have the same bridle system as the Fuse for releasing onto the 2 front lines with the sliders?
