which quiver will be the best for 75kg from 14-15 to around 35 knots? with a 136 clash riding in tarifa (so gusty high wind).
10-6 or 12-8 or even 10-8 if the 10 y mainly made for light and and 8 for strong...
And for the 10m i have the choice between 2012 and 13 for 100€ dif, so wich one is better in the lower range?
12 is fairly powerful, and the 8 takes a lot of wind.. but for the tarifa I know, then I would go 6 and 10 at 75kg or lighter, though it will not give you the power you need on the light summer days.. the 10 needs a genuine 15k+ and 20 for jumping.

8 will take 30k easily, but you are not unhooking, so you could go 8-12, but you would have a bit of frustration at 22 knots where the sweet spots do not overlap..

2 kites will always leave a slight compromise somewhere :-/
perfect world?
6, 9, 12.

Thanks Mike!

Yes i know that 2 kites quiver is difficult for freestyle, at the end i thing i'll go for another 6-7m cheap one and take 9 - 12m, the 12m is quite important for me as i spend the 6 month winter in the mexican riviera

Pleasure, I think you are right - if you go anywhere marginal, a good 12 is essential...

Re: Airush Varial - difference between 2011 and 2012-13?

Postby windtzu » Sun Jun 23, 2013 11:45 am

I have an opportunity to buy a lightly used 2011 Varial 7 m. Besides the price, the 7 m fits better in my current 12-9-7-5 quiver > Lithiums and possibly replacing the Cabrinha 7 meter Vector. I also have a 5 m Cab Convert that I haven't used used, but there may be a time.

Can anyone comment on the 2011 Varial verses the 012-013's? Likes-dislikes, pro's-cons?

Thanks.

It's a good kite, stable and very efficient - I still credit it to the biggest jump I've ever managed, full power, flat water leading to a big gust at the top of a very big smooth ramp...
Not as direct as the latest kites which actually feel not far off the razor in handling - but it's still a solid kite.
