Even though I have five functional bars, I feel the same way you do.
Same feelings about cost/benefit ratio with electric pumps.
The guy who taught me to kite was a paraglider pilot as well as a kiter, windsurfer, surfer, so I got a lot of lessons about safe procedure.
Whether or not I left my lines attached, I would "waste" the same time checking my gear before launch.
I can afford the two minutes.

Well I did the simple line management system, wasted it in the ocean when I took the sand off the board, and against all my historical methods put it hanging up WITHOUT washing it in fresh water...nearly killed me...lol.

I run one bar over two kites, so its an economic decision for me I'm afraid. Think if I had two bars I would also try supaez method.

But not washing it in the ocean as well, Christ reckon I'd give myself a heart attack...lol!!

Anyhow even after all these years, learnt something and that's why these forums are so useful.

I'm going to try attaching the rear lines to the front lines and might take a few tent stakes with me to pin them down near the back of the kite before I unwind the bar. When it's really nuking sometimes the lines whip around each other and make a mess, although they were perfectly straight when I laid them out. Not what I want to deal with in 30 plus wind.

near 30 knots I'm laying out my lines by hand for now. I want no mistakes or potential for mistakes, nor do I want to be spinning the bar.

Its already been said, but why would you leave your lines attached!

This is an extreme sport. For me its important to take the time to make sure my lines are clean. Also I am not someone who can exactly repeat their routine time after time.

So for me detaching the lines and reattaching every time is part of my safety check. I would say to others that whether you leave your lines attached or not should not be an efficiency question, rather a safety question -- so if you boat launch or drift launch then keeping them attached would seem to make sense, otherwise I am detaching.

I'm still laying them out by hand, I'm going to try and make the process a little more efficient by securing the ends while I unwind the bar so that they are right where I need them when I go back to the kite, and to prevent the wind from blowing one line over the other.

What and then detach them again, feed them through and attach. Mate just chuck sand on them, seriously. Or something heavy if no sand. No need to attach them first.

Second time with line management this time, didn't go so well. Need some practise me thinks...lol

From the moment i land kite to the moment i have the kite folded...
....the wet bar/ lines never touches in the sand...it's either on the kite or on the board

Yes wet sometimes and since it does not touch the sand as i pack with lines on...
....it dries clean overnight....
....zero corrosion effect of any kind with North trust bar or Core sensor bar...
....latest statistics from my last 4 months...84 sessions...bar/ lines look and work like brand new
