I always thought there is a good market for development in this area. I am suprised none of the big players never really launched a product.

regarding cutting your old twin tip.... almost guaranteed to ruin your board, if it works it will snap or de-laminate within minutes. Twin tips are generally wood core with carbon fibre composite and thin. I think snowboards are metal base cores ? and therefore easier to cut up and retain strength..... but give it a go you never know

Totally agree. Probably due to insufficient margins.

Don't agree if you follow saucisseman guide ...
You wiil need a wood core board + resin along the cut.
The process is applied on an F-one Style and on a Naish Sol

If you think you're gonna have some remorse cutting a nice board, you can have a go at the plywood board

I can see the benefit of the split surfboard, but why the split twin-tip? After several trips from the U.S. mainland to Maui, Mexico, Brazil, Greece, and various parts of the Caribbean and Central America on multiple airlines with a board, three kites, bar, harness, and pump in a golf bag... no charges yet. Nice that they can engineer this for a twin-tip, but seems much nicer to have your usual board, and rolling it all around in a single golf bag is actually pretty convenient. Are people really getting charged that often with their golf bags? I think some of the airlines have even changed the rules so that we don't need to be so sneaky anymore.

@harviento - Just fly to Europe and you will find out how expensive it is to take over-sized luggage. It might cost up to 35% of your flight price.
No issues at the check-in.

I didn't see the split directional on the picture above on your website.
Would you give more info on that since twin-tips are easier to get

Regarding the Newind surfkite split board, could you tell us if it is dedicated for waves or is it more a kind of allround directionnal board.

I have had for 3-4 years a Newind split TT Waves and I strongly recommand that board for travelling. However now, on my home spot I use most of the time a surfkite board (in any conditions) and I would like to use the same kind of shape (directionnal) when travelling.
That is why am looking for a split surfkite board that would work in any conditions (light wind, chops, flat water, waves up to head high.....), does the newind board meet such program ? if not, would it be possible to change a little the shape (as it is shaped piece by piece).
