That takes some big balls! But everyone was just getting stretched-out and yanked out the back.

The only guy that did anything on the wave was Kai after he got rid of his kite! That was some cool "all natural" tow-in surfing!

Is it even possible to make any turns on a giant wave attached to a kite? I know windsurfers can..big time!! but I've yet to see anyone do it with a kite.

I think the wind conditions have to be better. It should be entirely possible IMO, but the wind has to be strong, and sideshore. The wind in this vid is way too off shore.

ESG.
You are totally right. Big balls, but nobody's doing anything, except for Kai a little. These are all unbelievably talented and nasty riders, but I have yet to see any kiter do something really critical on a big wave yet.

BW's "biggest wave ever surfed" was the same deal; he was out in front of it the whole time. Ballsy, esp. strapless, but not next level. Looking for all these guys to push big wave riding, but at the moment this kind of footage really doesn't show kiting in a good light.

I would rather see these guys rip it up on a 5 footer at one-eye any day over this...
Don't mean to be negative. Lots of respect for all these riders, just my 2 cents. I think what Solbach Bose are doing with the KSP world tour IS pushing things in the right direction...
