How much do you ride in 12 knots and 30 knots. What's most common?

I weight 93 kg and have 8-10-12 m B5. Not ridden them so much yet though. I could image the 9m being quiate a handfull for 75 kg in 30 knots. I have no idea of the lowend on the 11m but the difference betwen 10 and 12 is pretty big with regards to lowend

HI Dr.,

Most of the time the winds are from 12 to 18 kt(low season),high season(3 months) 15 to 25kt.As I tested only two times,I tried to read some reviews on the net,but just find few reviwes about this kite,if don't mind give your opinion....

Best regards,

I'm 85kg, I only ride strapless surfboards.

I have the 9m and the 7m, I find the low end pretty good and ride the 9m from a solid15mph+ to about 25 and the 7m from 20+, had it up in 35 to 40 and was Ok. But that was on a surfboard, could have gone more on a TT.

I think 11 and 8 would give you most of what you want on a TT.

I am not you weight, remember that.
If you ride hooked in and the highend is seldom more than 25 knots, I think I would go for the 12/9m.
If you ride unhooked I think you will need that 8 m in the high end.

I might be wrong as I have not weight 75 kg in +20 years :-))
But you should imho opinion not build your quiver around a few hign wind days. Then it is better to buy and older used 7m for those days.

Hmmmm... Go 7 , 9 & surfboard and wait for 14knots or more.

I have a 9m B5 and it has awesome range.

From 15 knots I got stay upwind on a 134 TT at 82kgs.

Have had it out in 23-27 knots and it was very good and manageable.

Had to pull in a lot of trim, and it had heaps of power, but it was still safe at 27knots. (just, lol)

30 knots it may be a bit much, unless you are very experienced kiter and like boosting.

I ride my 7m B4 as soon as it hits 25 knots,

You want the 9m as its very good size, in my opinion.

Meerkite, You mention 7 & 9 in B5's.

I have a 7 & 9 B2's, and have a 12 I rarely use (the bandit 9 is so powerful). If i were to upgrade to B5 could I go with 7 & 10 and just have 2 kites? ( I have a surfboard I am beginning on for the lighter wind days.)

I'm hesitating to stick with 7 & 9 as it such a good combo but with the faster turning of the B5's and improved range i'm curious if I should widen the quiver to 7 & 10.

Yes 10 - 7, would be a great quiver, probably what I will do next time I upgrade.

Hi Boreas,

how are you?
Since I find myself in your previous situation (I ride Waroo 2009 9 and 13, my weight is 75 kg and I'm confused in choosing Bandit 5 11/8 or 12/9), I'd like to know about your choice in sizes and what's your impression about your quiver.

many thanks in advance.

Piero

No doubt in my mind that you should go for the 11-8m2 :thumb:

11m2 is the "go to overall" kite you can use on a TT without trying to avoid it - if you know what I mean :naughty:

And if you are considering a surfboard too, there is no reason for anything above the 11 (or 10) with your weight and winds.

You will need the 8m2 often when on a surfboard (from around 18 knots and up), and a few times a smaller one maybe if it hits 25 knots (or more) - but you can always take your TT on these rare days it seems, so should be no problem 8)

:D Peter

Ooops - sorry - I just saw now that this was an 11 month old post, that was taken up again...
