Quote: Dimitri, You were involved in the development of the Skywalker boards, right? Those have been my favorite twintip boards to date. How would you say that the Xenon boards compare with the Skywalker boards (in terms of quality of build, ability to handle chop, ability to load and pop in various conditions, subjective comfort and "smoothness of ride" etc etc)? Hello " Saami", Yes I was responsible in the development of the SKYWAKER boards 5 years ago and the HANACREW boards 7 years ago. This is also the reason why I came up with the EPIC " Spartan 129x39 / Droid 135x41 / Oxygen 135x47" Twin Tip boards. It is very hard to compare the Skywalker vs the Xenon boards because I have not been involved with Skywalker boards for at least 5 years now. And if you compare the 2007 Skywalker to the 2012 Xenon is not a fare test because of the improvements over these years. They are very different from each other. They both feel great under your legs, very smooth and nice pop and both have good things to say about it. I have not tried the new Skywalker boards so it will be unfair to compare them. But you can't go wrong between these 2 boards if you are in the market to buy a Skywalker or Xenon board.

But you can't go wrong between these 2 boards if you are in the market to buy a Skywalker or Xenon board. Thanks. I've tried quite a few boards over the years and the 2010 Skywalker Yo 129x38 Hard edition is my favorite twintip board so far (though I have to admit that the Monk and Len10 Lunacy Pro were pretty sweet boards as well). However, though the 2010 Skywalker hard edition rides comfortable through chop, it is not an easy board to load up hard and pop in choppy water. In flattish water there are of course no issues, but in messy water I sometimes wished for a board that made powered moves in the chop easier. Well, I just sprang for a 2011 Skywalker but this time in the soft edition rather than the hard edition. I'm thinking that the not-quite-so-stiff flex pattern in that board will make loading up in chop easier. I had been considering a Laluz because it is supposed to be good for freestyle in choppy water, but I've never actually tried the Laluz and in the end I didn't want to buy what I hadn't tried. Anyhow, that's the reason why I asked.

Hi guys glad to see all the good feedback for the Xenon board range for 2012.. 2010 was an amazing year for Xenon, then came 2011 and Xenon just got stronger and more and more people testing them falling in love with the smooth ride and huge pop they deliver.. now in 2012 you will not find a more all round board than the Xenon Laluz its fast,Smooth has lots of pop and super smooth landings.. in fact if im honest i would say that if your struggling to land a trick like your almost there but can't stick the landing try this kiteboard. it really is the easiest board to land hard and fast tricks on.. have fun out there guys.. Angelo PS DO NOT DEMO THIS BOARD.... becuase your buy it!

Also interested in the Xenon surfboards. I see more and more Xenon TwinTips at the local spot, but haven't seen the surfs yet. Heard Xenon started making surfboards last year but in small quantities.
Cadz - waiting eagerly for your review as i can't find too many yet.

Thank you guys for the good feedbacks, Your experience has great value for us. We will launch official news here and in other international and regional media channels, as well as our new 2012 website, in a couple of weeks. It is true that La-luz is a bit stiffer this season, but this will not effect it's super easy landings, just make it faster, more reactive and responsive. We are going for a massive production of surfs at 2012 and assume that there will be many more to try all over the beaches this season... We are eager to start getting your reviews on the new 2012 gear coming out now. Visit our FB - http://www.facebook.com/kiteboardsX

So... after reading all the reviews and after a few local guys (and one good friend) started riding Xenon I decided I had to test the Laluz myself. Took my friend's Laluz 2012 (not sure about the size) for a spin and even though i had some expectations before even touching the board, the Laluz surprised me. What a sweeeeeet ride ! The board seems so smooth and the pop is great. Took me a couple of minutes to get used to but foot straps and pads are very comfy. If i hadn't bought my new board just two month ago

I got my Prisma 5'8 2011 about a month ago. Its a quad fin wave board. I ride it mostly strapless and I'm really happy with the feel of the board. It's not as stiff as lets say north wave boards, so my injured knee is not suffering from all the bumps and the waves. The board also has great float and the shape is like a true shortboard, so it feels natural to catch the wave, depower the kite and just curve on the wave. I got the board second hand from an hardcore surfer, and yet the board looks like new. I figure that the construction is top notch, just like the riding. I can definitely recommend everyone to try the Prisma, specially if you r into strapless wave riding.

Ya I'd like to get a bit more feedback on the Laluz new flex characteristics and edges (I understand the round edge is out), and how both change the ride.
I was very close to pulling the trigger on a 2011, but thought I would wait until the 2012 came out. Acutally, my big problem is I can't decide between the 132 and 135. I'm 78 kg, but my sense is the 135 is the right board for our conditions as we don't get a lot of nuking days. Can the 135 hold down a lot of power?
