What i also like with this kind of trim is that to initiate the move, you do not need to pull as hard compared to a strap system or even clamcleat to get the rope out of the clamcleat first. This is very useful in very light wind where front line tension is poor (then it is hard to unlock a clamcleat accuratelly).

Just did a bit of google-fu on that trimmer bracket and it looks like a great solution. Might even upgrade my setup.
6mm Amsteel blue is rated at 3900 kg, strong enough just hope it's easy enough to grip directly.

And because it's so highly rated it will tolerate a fair a mount of wear and tear before becoming weak enough to be a problem.

I plan to build a bar with this trim system. Anyone with suggestions on a "naked" bar? So far on my list I have the Switch V3 bar with floats for $52. Slingshot offers a bar only but a bit pricey.

For a single front line flag-out safety system on this design I'll need to source bungee flag out line. I'm not sure how long it'll need to be, how do you figure the correct length (how taut should it be) and can one buy it in a longer length and spice loops onto each end or must the loops be sewn?

You'll first have to think about the length L of the depower line. To me you should define your wish for the stroke of the bar (i.e approx b=60 cm) and the trim stroke (i.e. approx t=40 cm), and use the formula L=2b +3t = 240 cm in my example. Then just add about 15-20 cm for the splices and little losses here and here.
The lenght of the flag line shall be higher than the distance between the Chicken Loop and the front line tension ("Flag line"), which is L/2= 120 for in this example.
For those who start from an existing bar, you will also need to add extensions on the rear lines of approx 2.t if the previous trim system you replaced had previously the same stroke values.

rynhardt, have you added the Ozone trimmer bracket to your setup?

No, not sure yet if the lack of a swivel will be an issue. Or I would consider putting a swivel on the release instead..
