Ideas for a high wind Board to go with current boards?

Postby Westozzy » Mon Aug 06, 2012 1:05 am

Okay I ride as some of you know a cardboard wave, also now a sector 54.

What I'm considering is a board I can use to hold my kites right at their wind range limit for pop and big boost for when there is no swell or flat water on the estuary.

Normally ride ocean side though so something that can handle a small amount of chop ( not a board designed for perfect flat water) but not a board that compromises heaps of performance for the chop factor 135cm to 140cm.

Any suggestions as I have not stayed up to date on the latest, my last wakeboard was a jimmy Lewis lithuim ages ago, so haven't a clue. I do like cardboards, but airush and north make good boards to. Anyone??

So far have had good comments about the Shinn...

Shinn Monk is great, RRD Poison limited 132x39 fast and tons of pop, try before you buy so many good ones out there now.

To take your kites to the max then the Shinn Monk hands down. Can take a serious amount of power with huge control without feeling dull - some boards can take huge power but are very damped feeling. The Monk on the other hand has blistering performance that can be accessed very easily to let you boost and throw HUGE walls of spray on heelside carves :thumb:

Yeh know what ya mean. Narrowed it down to shine monk, the north X ride or a cardboard freeride ( an Aussie made board I use their mutant. )

The shinn has got amazing reviews.
