Ok, so my back is getting better. At least a little, and I've been looking at some ronix boots. I don't know too much about boots, but from what I have read, I want ronix boots. The boots I have tried before, without mentioning brands were shaite IMO
..but which ones to get? I think the ONE looks nice, but hesitant shelling out $450 immediately since it is not going to be my main gig so to speak.
I am hesitant getting an open toe boot because of sand and small rock will totally kill the riding buzz...imo.
Oh well, another toy I guess. Advice needed and appreciated.
edit: I don't think I want too stiff boots.

i just recently got 2011 Ronix one's and they are my first set of boots, they are really comfortable and super light compared to Liquid Force escalades that I tried and for me the stiffness of them is just right got them end of season for nearly half price so if your looking for new ones try find 2011 end of season

ronix are very sweet and super light,
get em a year old and save a wad
they do suffer from wear a little faster than I'd like. I guess people dont wakeboard for 2 hours sessions as often as conditions allow!
Sounds like a strange move if your back is messed. Way more power and pressure through the bod when riding powered in boots than say strapless.

Yes Ronix boots do fall apart faster than Snooki being drunk at a club! Saw a lot people have this issue at the cable park this summer so it is not just kiting that kills them. I have a pair of Franks that I got when I first started kiting and they are all ready starting to come apart ( liner is coming undone). I all so find that the 2 lace system is hard to tighten or loosen making it more difficult to get in or out of. Those are my only complaints though. I still use them on my Slingy Misfit when the wind is too light for my Darkside.
For my real boots I've been rocking the Rad's. They are light and comfortable. The laces are crap though! I hear they fixed them but I'm not sure I just replaced mine with some old kite line and it works way better than their laces. Super easy to get in and out of and lots of support. The removable liners are nice in the cold all so, but they are not bomb proof so you have to watch where you are walking and the toes seem to wear out. I just patched mine with Aquaseal.
If I was you I would try some on then hit up ebay after you find your size. Way cheaper that way and you might be able to get them for up to 50% off.

Liquid Force does make some very good boots, worth checking them out.

Yeah maybe but I think if I start slowly and work at.it it could be a good incentive to keep working out. ...but hey I might not even like it much any more.

Personal preference, but I like the more flexible boots, not super stiff ones, i am unflexible enough already without having super stiff boots too. The Catalog on their website has a chart on stiffness/flexibility. The Franks are not listed as the most flexible but I think they are pretty flexible too.
It is way easier to make the transition nowdays cos a light deck and Ronix boots are real close to the weight of a footstrapped twintip. One thing to remember is to let go of the bar, I have hurt myself holding on real hard thinking i can save a minute or 2 not having to relaunch my kite, kind of like being in a torture rack feeling. With closed toe your foot wont end up pushed 1/2 way through, a local here had to be cut out with a knife and felt like his leg was going to die if not sorted quick! I know of a few nightmare experiences taking them out in waves, all to do with not being to get them off in a hurry when the last thing you need in your feet tied together with a big sheet screwed to them. I haven't shelled out on some ronix yet, I been scamming other peoples boards at the beach (i had old LF), but i want some too. They are an absolute rip off tho, bui they are what they are so will probably get some anyway.

I love ronix ones for wake boarding, but for kiting in going to go for Liquidforce Vantage CT's. Purely for the Velcro strap system. A billion times easier to get in and out of!
