Whoa,
It's not rocket science... but it is science...nothing to be ashamed of there, at least, that is what a couple my best friends tell me, one a Metalurgist and the other a Naval Engineer... that's where I get my information. Here's something to think about.
And don't get me started on "redox".
I appreciate your criticism,so, thanks for presenting the issues. I always like to hear the "other side of the story".

Hello guys, These are the new "EPIC SLIDER METAL PULLEYS" from Epic kites. It is very hard to please every body. Some people like "O" rings and others like Pulleys. So we decided to combine these 2 systems and come up with the Epic Slider Metal Pulleys. These sliders come in set of 2 with a line attachment for $18 a set. You can buy them on our ONLINE STORE.
P.S. Again by keeping the price so low compare to other kite companies, we sold out of the ones we had but will have more in by the end of the month.

Well done Dimitri for keeping it sensible!!
To the bun fight, you are picking at irrelavent nits as the fundamental issues are being overlooked regarding rope diameter( top tip: these are entering some of my specialist subjects!!) carry on...
Oh dear Hansen A! is a price rethink in order? Thats what happens when you try to reinvent the wheel and sell it as a round thing!!
LOL!!

How about we loose the pulleys/rings all together?
Or,ALL kites should at least come with a pulley/ring-less bridle option.
Wainman,Slingshot rally,& Ozone are way ahead on this.
worn bridals are the first thing that needs replacing on kites.
I think the benefits of pulleys / rings is way worth the off chance that in a couple of years you might have to replace a pulley, or a worn bridle line. Every time I try a kite without pulleys, its almost like riding a C-kite, as soon as I sheet out past half way, the back lines just go slack and I cant steer. Also I feel the depower comes much more gradually with pulleys, as if you can feel the kite "sheeting out" gradually as the pulley moves up the line. I guess its a bit of a personal preference issue though, some people probably like that locked in feel, and yeah, if they get used to riding it, they probably might even prefer it to pulleyed bridles.

The Antal low friction rings appear to be made of hard anodized aluminium. The anodizing provides a thin layer of aluminium oxide (sapphire!) which greatly increases hardness, abrasion resistance and corrosion resistance.

I do not know how durable this is in practice. Maybe a GIN rider can tell us?

brinell hardness of 7075-T6 Aluminum is 150 while 316 steel has a hardness of 217. The chart of common material properties don't really matter since you don't make sliders out of garbage you have laying around the house, you make it out of 7075-t6 6061-t6 (brinell hardness 120), 316 steel, or some other strong alloy. 316 is preferred for marine applications because it has better corrosion resistance than 304 steel.

Just went to the Epic website and ordered three sets of these Metal Slider Rings. Dimitri's business manager ....ummmm.. I mean wife Helen, sent me back a message telling me they sold a whole pile of these things this morning and they are out of them until the end of this month. She also said if they don't ship by end of the month, shipping is FREE! Here is a link to the item on their site. http://epickites.com/products/metal_slider_rings.php

Do they wear out quickly? Do they need to be replaced often? is there a need to buy spares? Maybe I should order a bunch? This way I have them when I need them?
Thanks for letting me know OB I was just going to order a bunch!!!!
