I shot this video on Sunday 4-1. A handful of us were kiting along with a windsurfer. I'm placing it on here because some of the boys thought Patrick should get some credit for being a great guy.

He could've easily tacked back up to the point for another wave, but he saw the kiter was headed toward the rocks and acted very quickly before (that's the key) before they were among them. He was in there so friggin fast it was impressive.

Patrick has quite the rep for helping all kiters; newbies, advanced kiters & the like.

That was pretty impressive and required some strength to pull off.

Kudos!

Exactly, the rest of us 40 & 50 year old farts couldn't have done that as fast as he did.

Great job Patrick and it took some strength too the way the rescued kiter was dragging at speed. Thanks for capturing the save on video too John!

thanks to his kite's higher wing profile he could drive himself and his friend out of the danger despite their low water speed!
my guess if i would try this trick with the switch kite i'd be tumbled in kite line cocoon along with my friend. providing my friend was not inflatable doll of course.
