Hi,

Just purchased a used BMW 325xi Sport Wagon. Still keeping my smelly van! But for the wagon, I will need a roof rack system. I am a skier, snowboarder, kiter and biker. Any advice or preferences out there on rack systems?

Paul

I would strongly recommend the racks (rails and crossbars) offered by the OEM for any vehicle, Although they are more expensive they are Generally made with consideration of things like roof and paint damage, corrosion, windnoise aerodynamics and realistic load ratings with real knowledge of the vehicle body structure.

in terms of mounts thule and yakima offer the biggest variety however somethings you run into difficulty in some of their attachments fitting onto theOE cross rails if they've got an aero profile

A big roof box is always worth while pretty much covers everything you want to move, , keeps it out of harms way, is lockable and fits any rails.

cheers.
