@ Bille it looks like you had some fun participating in this March 2012 thread from Alexrider
Would have been a silly question (then) to ask if foilkites ridden on foilboards with ever get popular ?

Thanks for your brave attempt at reviving the thread, PullStrings. :winner2:
With the advent of foils and hydrofoils, everyday is a kiting day. It explains the lack of candidates for this great competition. :jump:

Hi Lmrutledge,
Your question is not silly enough to enter the contest, but it's definitely off topic . Your question should go in he hydrofoil section.

Being a beginner, I've got a beginner's foil, the Cabrinha Double Agent. Not knowing whether I was going to get anywhere on a HF, I decided not to risk to invest 3000 EUR for something that would immediately end up catching dust in my garage. But the learning was not as challenging as expected.
Now I learned enough to see the limitations of the Cab DA (slow, short mast and board not really suited for) and am envisaging the next HF, maybe the Zeeko Alu or the Fone with Mitu Convertible Wave. But I'll keep the DA for slow freeride and wave (if I ever get good enough to dare :-?).

But maybe your question is silly after all: what sort of foil are you talking about? Kite or hydro? :P
If you were referring to the kite, its still FS, but upgraded to Speed5 and Sonic FR (fantastic btw). They're certainly not going to gather dust in the garage!

What foil are YOU riding, BTW?

Cheers,
A

Alex,

I am riding the Liquid force Short mast. Learning has not been as difficult as I have read either. I'm referring to foiling some riding upwind and down. Not even trying jibing etc yet. I also am playing around with the North Foil board as I like the NO SHARP edges. I think I'm going to really like it for Ocean cruising. I have also ridden the Alpine short mast which was mounted on my Slingshot Alien board. I don't think the mast was in the correct position because I felt I needed a lot more front foot pressure to keep the Alpine down. However, I could feel how SMOOTH the Alpine rides Almost like there is nothing in the water. I'm Flying the Sonic 18 also. I should be getting my Speed 5 21 soon!!!

Reminder of amended rules: questions brought to the forum from the outside world will be admitted, provided of course they remain kite related.
It is OK for one candidate to appear several times on the list, but not on the same podium.
Further candidates must be aware of one implicit rule: entries must respect basic grammatical rules such as the question mark at the end of a question.
