Hello everybody,
I would like to ask for your opinion/advice about flying the Crazyfly SCULP kite with the Cabrinha BAR OVERDRIVE MODULAR 1X TRIMLITE?
(both in original set up of everything)
I am interested to try this kite but I would like to keep my current Cabrinha BAR which is pretty new.
Do you think that kite will fly well and correctly also not using the original Crazyfly bar?
My afraid is that in their website they write "the Sculp has been fine tuned to work best with the new Savvy bar" so I would like to avoid issues or risks while flying it.
Thanks a lot if you can share your advices on this.

"Fine tuned bars" ar marketing blabla normally
You need to check were are loops/knots for connection (maybe you need different pigtails) and you need to check is flag out is long enough and the right kind. I think (but not 100% sure) both have V (or very low Y), so it should work.

Savvy bar is high Y split, about the same as the Core bar. Basically the same system.
So the new kites are made to fly on a high split. I don't have experience with the 2023 models but I can imagine with the fixed bridles a low split is not ideal. You might want to consider a 2022 quiver.

Oh boy, did they really went backwards? I was finally happy with duotone converting to a low split, any reason why they would have done it?
Split on the savvy bar is 6m, vs 4m on core...

Yup, they did. I don't know why, but it's a strange choice when almost all the manufacturers have gone to low splits.
It's the reason I decided to complete my 2022 quiver, and keep away from the 2023 models for now.
The rest of the bar is pretty nice though.

You can easily pick up a High Y converter for the Cab bar which will then work on both Low V/ High Y setup's.
......but hard to believe CF have taken a backwards step and moved to a High Y setup.....
Does this mean non-compatibility with Pre-2022 Sculps?

Here all the info, although they are not saying why they did it:
https://www.crazyflykites.com/savvy-bar
COMPATIBILITY
The Savvy bar has the Y (front line split) at 6m from the bar.
It is compatible with all kites that have a bridle with pulleys or sliders.
If a kite has a fixed bridle (no pulleys no sliders) and has a Y between 3-9m from the bar, it is compatible with the Savvy bar If a kite has a fixed bridle (no pulleys no sliders) and has a low Y less than 3m from the bar, such kites are not advisable to be used with the Savvy bar. The kite will fly, but the high Y will cause the kite to close (become more like a C kite) and this usually results in less power and slower turning etc.

I think, a split 6m above bar can be ignored. It does not change much. Ist's the same like riding 18m lines instead of 24m lines. No feelable effect.
Maybe you may notice it when you fly with very short lines...
