The Loop on the Left is the one i modified for use with the SureFire QR, the one that Broke !

The Chicken Loop on the Right is stock.

Edit :
Please read post by --jaystore below ; had to change this post after reading the V-7
isn't designed as a primary release system. But as soon as it is, i get to have that extra
3-4 inches of travel back on my bar-sheeting, like i had when used with the SureFire .

The SureFire being unintuitive is one of my concerns. The only way to work around it that I know is to close my eyes and release and reset it about 100 times so I can activate it without thinking.

I think the shaft/stalk could bend when really torqued when it is screwed into its factory spreader bar. I think this issue would be eliminated with my design because it is free to move in the direction the CL (SS ring attached to the depower line in this case) is pulling.

If there is a market for it I hope to see someone that knows how to design no nonsense solid equipment will create a real QR attached to the spreader bar. My garage version is certainly not the best solution. Maybe the Dynabar designers will come up with something.

Seriously, if your going to jump on this topic about a home-made version of the V-7;
it should At-Least be a better attempt than what Ya get from Dynabar for the money
Because :
The assembly that Dynabar made is simply Awesome !!!

Fair enough. I like cheaper simpler easier.

Back on the V-7

I have looked at the V-7 and understand that the Dyneema line releases on one end when you pull the red ball. What I dont see is how the hook releases from the CL or is it assumed that the hook will stay attached to the CL? What happens to the bungee also attached to the hook or ???

I am not interested in reinventing the wheel with my idea. I just don't see how the V-7 works as a QR.

Hi guys, playing with safety? Take care!
The release system on the hook has been deleted from our project because you never know where the hook is.
The release system on DYNABAR V7 isn't a QR safety system, it can be used only when for example you have kite line tangled on it but no big pull like when you fall in waves (the bungee should be detached before going in water). The pin that locks is impossible to pull when the kite is pulling, this avoids unwanted release when you jump (on snow can be a drama).
I'm working on the same concept but with auto-release bungee and real safety QR.

Maybe I should design a hook with QR to be used with steel sliders, thinking about it from... now.

During this time don't forget to enjoy DYNABAR features as much as you can 8)

The primary QR is and should always be the Chicken loop QR.

In that respect the Dynabar is no different to any other fixed hook.

SO "GLAD" you posted That !!!

Please stay working on the new QR system ; a spreader-bar release is something
we need.

We have all started using the Dynabar V7 for ocean-side riding here in S. Padre. Only have great things to say. At first, we didn't like the idea of more complicated equipment, but this spreader bar serves a definite purpose. Been using the dyneema slider predominantly for easy sliding. Great product guys - keep it going!

One thought - does it need to have such a bulky spreader pad? I find that since it is always pulled away from the body, the pad doesn't serve much of a purpose. Could the pad size and bulkiness be reduced in the future (atleast for the dyneema version; I understand the metal spreader bars put more pressure on the pad)?
