"Why I do not compete on KSP Tour"

For many of the same reasons I don't kompete with Giselle or Alessandra to pose for women's lingerie. In part because I can't afford the rest of the payments on my sex change and also because the changes I have made look weird.

Nuff said.

I think we should also say, great to have a KSP tour!
And the riders on it really rip!

If BW and the team have their vision, that is great too...good to have that as well !!!

I beg to differ with you Toby. What most people do on this forum is kiteboarding, including you. Guys like BW(and TDZ) are the ones who are actually kitesurfing or as you say KITEsurfing. Just keeping it real.

Getting pulled by a kite while you do "S" turns and hacks in front of the pocket is a different kind of kitesurfing in my opinion(I think that's what BW was getting at). The "powered style" has more windsurfing roots while BW is trying to promote a more "Surf Style." Not better, just different.

I see you're pushing your new video called "Striclty Hooked Airstyle" on this forum and that's really cool. You have a vision of what you think kiteboarding is and you are trying to showcase it and make a descent living doing it. You are not in any competitions are you? How come? You're just making videos of what you think is cool. Isn't that the same thing BW's doing? Well not really I guess. His instructional vids are free on his website. To me, that's someone trying to share a stoke. I'm just saying.......

Am I understanding it right that Ben wants kitesurfing to progress to be more like surfing and hence once you have caught the wave the kite is a handicap you try to minimise?

Kai Lenny letting go of the kite at Jaws did work but its a bit of an extreme case. So what is the future of the kite in Ben's vision?

Ben - if you really want to be influential in the sport and drive it in a certain direction then I think the prudent thing to do is to make your influence felt from within - join the KSP Tour with your TDZ crew and show them how it should be done. It doesn't seem to matter if you lose or win so you can only gain followers by going the same places the KSP guys do and show the world how it should be done in the same conditions as what they are dealt.....irrespective of whether the KSP crew score you highly or not

I fail to see what negative outcomes it could have for your crew and your objectives.....

I think the KSP Tour is an asset to kitesurfing and I congratulate everyone that have made it happen - the coverage was great and whether you agree with how people get scored will remain no matter who does it.

I've had the pleasure of riding with you and some of your TDZ crew and you all bring special talents to kitesurfing - why would you be dismissive about a crew that is trying to build kitesurfing further?

Im a kitesurfer. Reason's why i dont want to go:

No prize money
Straps still even thought about and talked about

Why am i going to spend thousands?? when i can shred all day at home ?? No Reward ?

Ib, I agree, it is great to have some guys pushing into every direction possible, that makes the sport special, with all its directions.

I am just saying, that we should not try to be a copy of a different sport, but should be unique in its way if it comes to comps.

Yes, I do comps wherever there is airstyle. Currently at KTA Vigan and supporting it the best way I can.

Can anyone explain me, how BW style is different from what KSP wants?
From what I know, KSP judges like the surf comps, and not to use the kite.
Ben explained me he comes from surfing, but isn't it same same???
